Armenia is a mountainous country, and most of the land is high above sea level – this makes for a climate of hot, dry summers with days reaching around 35 degrees and bitterly cold nights. Winters are freezing, with heavy snowfall and temperatures sometimes reaching into the minus 20s or less. Rainfall is heaviest around April, but even then it isn’t very heavy.
