The main road link to Armenia is the Kajaran highway, which links the country with Iran. There are also two main routes linking Armenia with Georgia, though these roads have reputations as being dangerous and known for highway robberies – efforts from the Georgian police are changing this, however. Driving private vehicles into Turkey or Azerbaijan is not possible, as both countries have border blockades. It is possible to enter the Nagorno-Karabakh enclave, though permission must be obtained from offices in Yerevan. An International Driving Permit is required documentation, and standard EU driving licences are also accepted.
